USCE (US Clinical Experience) includes: Clerkships, Externships & Obserevership "Some programs may not consider observership as a USCE".

Internship is the Post Graduate year (PGY) 1 of any specialty, externship is a rotation you do as a last year med student, usually as an elective, or after graduation because is not intended to be part of your curriculum necessary for graduating. Clerkships are the mandatory rotations for med students in different specialties

but in india,internship is the last compulsory year in clinicals.

Here in the US, Internship = PGY-1
