Walk into a hospital nearby, ask a physician or PD that you want to shadow him/her or volunteer, stick there for at least a year, if you're good and impressive, you will have yourself someone that is will pick up the phone and make some calls that will be enough to get you in a program!!

your credentials are good. All exams in first attempt is good enough, and besides you don't have the visa burden. You have to check your application: what programs are you applying to? Specialties? You cannot take step 2 again (not alllowed), but you can get Clinical experience as the One said. Get an observership, and try to clear step 3. and apply to programs more within your reality

I got matched in IM after beign graduated for seven years. Grades in the 80s. And USCE in surgery, no publications. But I took step 3 and passed, and the USCE helps you a lot
