What I read in Kaplan says it is due to production of antibodies against the interferon after long term use which is kind of different from your note. Any more clarification?

well.. production of antibodies against interferons might reduce the efficacy of administered interferons while what i wrote was in reerence to the ways by which viruses evade the interferons
