conym5 - 04-14-10 13:38 Antibiotics are frequently prescribed for acute exacerbations associated with changes in the character or volume of sputum, but are not helpful chronically.

Inhaled corticosteroids will not prevent progression of the disease...the patient probably needed oral streoids...
