I agree, the whole match process was created so that they will give priority to US graduates over IMGs,cuz everyone knows its impossible for the IMG's to have hands-on experience in the USA unless they finish a residency program, and they will not let you in a residency program unless you have that experience& they will not let you have hands on experience even if you finish all the 3 steps of USMLE.no surprise ....................unfair system.

i think its a matter of luck .. and yeah its always harder for IMGs.. i got the same issue. it was all about US clinical experience or where im from! i was so frustrated at the end of the whole thing that i just left everything and went out and had a truck load of ice cream and i relaxed the entire day! lol..

ok...at this moment there are more than 80 programs that have unfilled positions???can someone tell me what are they gonna do with them??are they gonna be on the findaresident website?if there is no one to fill these positions today; what do they wait for?do they rather prefer to leave it vacant than to offer it to someone with less than their standards they set????!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't say it is a waste of time...I know it is hard, but gives you experience, and makes you apply more judiciously next year. Let's say it is a rat race. and as Nietzsche said: "What does not kill you makes you stronger"
