i m confused about this paragraph
special Instructions for Letter of Recommendation (LoR) Writers: All applicants are strongly urged to complete the DSF and provide it to their letter writers. In addition, all applicants must complete and sign the AAMC Request for Letter of Recommendation/Cover Sheet and provide it to their letter writers. These documents should be submitted with the LoR. The applicant is responsible for providing these documents to the letter writer. If the applicant has not provided these documents, please ask him or her to do so before submitting the LoR to ERAS Support Services.
it means that i can only get lors after getting registered at AAMC and my eras , otherwise i cannot get LORS, but as i m planning to go to USA in july and stay there till interviews , how am i gonna get lors from professors of my medical school if i m in USA?

Re: Some Confusion
adonis123 - 02-23-10 23:42 It is recommended to have yur AAMC ID on yur LORs,but it is no way essential to have it on them.
The above statement holds more true about the waived LORs,because it is usually the LOR writer who posts them to ERAS.But, if the LOR writer hands over the LORs to u in a sealed envelope then u can also post them to ERAS.
As u r getting LORs from the Professors of yur medical school then obviously u will not be waiving yur right to see the LORs.So,u donot need to do everything u mentioned above.Just ask yur Professors to write u the LORsand then u can add yur AAMC ID to the LORs yurself after u get yur ERAS Token. Then u can fill in the Cover Letter and print out a filled DSF Form and send all of them with yur LORs to ERAS.
BTW,I also know people who have sent their LORs even without cover letters and a DSF Form.Their LORs were also scanned by ERAS without any problem. But, at the same time, I will not advise u to do the same.
Good Luck!
