Follow up test: LFT & CK
LFT: before starting & after 12 wk of starting statin (Stop statin if LFT > 3 times)
CK: not routinely recommended, just 1 baseline CK preferable

According to Dr. Agrawal in premium review:
LFT sure you will do the base line test, then Q 6 weeks for 2 times then Q 3 months for 1 year then Q 6 months.
Discontinue the drug if the LFT>3x the normal value

CK no need.

Liver function tests are the baseline nd evaluatory tests for the usage and continuation of the lipid lowering drugs-statins.
creatininekinase is not of necessity.

statins can lower LDL cholesterol (so-called "bad cholesterol") by 1.8 mmol/l (70 mg/dl), which translates into a 60% decrease in the number of cardiac events (heart attack, sudden cardiac death) and a 17% reduced risk of stroke after long-term treatment.
