Re: step 2 cs-case writing
bobby - 04-28-09 17:26 It would be better if someone who is preparing for the exam to write a hypothetical Patient Note. You may get such notes in the book for CS--"First Aid".Also you may use this link to 40 Cases for Step 2 CS.

But I would like to mention/summerise a few tips here.It is probably something you already know!
1.TIME constraint is the most important aspect--so the only way to get over this is to PRACTICE repeatedly.Yes,practice not only history taking and examination but also writing Patient Note [though many of us have done this thousands of times but no one can over-ride the importance of practising].
2.Alloted SPACE is fixed. So your note should fit in that space and not leave out any salient point/finding.You may type or print the patient note.
3.The STYLE of writing the patient note may vary-may be in continuous sentences or you can write just the points.
4.There is a list of abbreviations which you may use-the list will be available at the writing station during your exam.It is advised to make use of abbreviations as that helps to save time and space too.
5.Once you have completed your note, just go through your note and see if you have included everything .
