Even if upto two cases go completely wrong, one has a complete chance of passing this exam.
But,it also depends on the fact of how well did one do on the remaining cases.

Good Luck.

i guess now the standards have been raised
you can only mess up one case. two case means lost the game

This is what the USMLE says about Step-2CS:

"For Step 2 CS, if you do not begin every case, your performance may be assessed on those cases completed. If this assessment would result in a passing outcome no matter how poorly you may have performed on the missed case(s), then a "pass" will be reported. If this assessment would result in a failing outcome no matter how good your performance on the missed case(s), then a "fail" will be reported. Otherwise, the attempt may be recorded as an "incomplete examination."

So,it is evident from this information that it is possible to pass this exam even if the examinee misses, let us say , the minimum plural i.e., the two cases in the whole encounter. This because the USMLE has used the term "CASE(S),not the term "CASE" in this information. So, the minimum plural would be 2(TWO) Cases.

I hope u get it.
Good Luck.

these are all assumptions at the end of the day, we can only derive some consolations out of these talking but the fact is this exam is highly unpredictable, needs really good practice, cannot be taken lightly, you have to perform really well, coz there are numerous criteria that you are tested for, So what do they call as missed cases??? and still talking of performance in those missed cases being rated as bad or good can give a clue as to what the standards are!!!
