Plain lateral skull radiograph demonstrates the typical gyriform pattern of cortical calcification (arrows) in the occipital region.

sturge weber is basically associated with malformation of the blood vessels overlying the meninges on the same side as the portwine stain, the calcification of which leads to this typical x ray appearance..
