Hello just wanted to know if i apply for step 3 now what is the earliest time i can take step 3 examination?? I mean if i apply in first week of april can i take the exam in last week of june or in other words will i get a date so early?? I am a FMG.

The processing takes around 4 weeks (I've been told that it takes less now), and after you have the permit you can schedule it anytime until Nov. 30. The problem will be availability, so you have to look for the place that has the next available date. For example: I registered the exam in August 2006, got the permit in September, and the next available date was Nov. 30th, because I wanted to take it in New York (took it in Brooklyn, since in Manhattan the next available date was in 2007). But if you are flexible about time, take it wherever.

Re: time required to take step 3? utterker - 05-15-08 09:25 i applied for step 3 and my eligibility period is from 5th may to 22 august. if i want to take the test in september what is the procedure? is it scheduling first and rescheduling it again? if i use this method i will lose the opportunity to reschedule the exam once more, because we have only one chance to reschedule it. is there any other method to get a date directly for september?

Re: time required to take step 3? radhamesramos - 05-15-08 10:57 What you can do is change the eligibility period, which will cost you more than rescheduling. I recommend you to take it on August 20-21 or 21-22...those dates are so close to september that really I don't see the difference unless you have some personal issues in your life

As you said, you have one chance to schedule and another to re-schedule. Since you already have your elegibility peroid (means you asked for it) then you're only left with one chacne to push it for another 90 days.
