Hi Adonis, i just want to ask you that is this the first time you hav applied to residency programs or hav u applied before as well? And if you donot get it this time will u apply again, or will u look for something else?

Dear, thanks a lot for yur concern!
It is my second time applying to residency programs.I had applied in 2008 as well.
Well, if I donot match this time then I will go for a post-graduation in my own country.I have already passed the DNB (Diplomate of the National Board) exam of my country.Its results have a validity of two years,thus I can join some good institute here in my country.I will also be taking some other PG exams conducted here.I am even thinking of trying the New-Zealand or Australia option.If I get a chance I wud love to settle in Australia and do my residency there.
I will be ending my pursuit of getting a residency in the US if I donot match this year.The best thing is a doctor is a doctor no matter where he/she is.
But,I wish all of u match in yur specialties of choice.

Yes,definitely, it has grown too competitive over the past few years.I think it is due to a significant increase in the number of IMGs and due to the high scores of majority of these IMG applicants.Thus,same number of residency spots,but a signficant increase in the number of high-scoring IMGs.
