Try to contact the ECFMG and ask them if they have such a letter to send to your med school. I know the majority of med school can provide its students with such letters with no hassles so you need to ask your school again, better personnaly through a relative who's still there.

If you are FMG ,you donot need dean letter .I donot think it works .

realy i dont need it yes iam FMG i have several proplem with my collage i graduat from yemen if any body here graduat from yemen please contact with me .in this site . the ecfmg send all document to my collag to sign it in 7/2007 until now nothing came from my collag to ecfmg i contact with them they said maybe it lost .so i dont know what i have to do please guidme and i have my cs exam next week and someone told me if ecfmg not gait any thing from the collag they will not issue my ecfmg certificat i dont know that true or no pleas help by advise thank u

When you apply though ERAS they ask you if you are going to submit a Dean's Letter (MSPE is the real name) or not...if it is not you have to contact ECFMG to know what to do, since ECFMG is the dean of Foreign students, they must have some document that compesates such lack. But first, try again with your med school. I got mine personally, probably the problem is that they have to give it personally...contact them and ask them

thank u very much i was looking to u to dicusse several things with you any way thank you u answer i want to ask u do u have idea what kind of document the ecfmg send to the our collag becuse i contact with my collag by phone today about the document they told me we miss it if you can send other one i dont know how i ican do that so if u have idea about the kind of document i can priented by my self like i dont have any proplem so this proplem came now.

Hi smyomer,
I had a similar sityation to yours in 2006. Let me answer you first, the ECFMG will send your Diploma and Med School Transcripts "the ones that you sent to them when applied for your USMLE test" to your Med School for verification, which means simply that they will ask your school to fill up a form that comes within the envolpe that contains your Diploma and Transcript, they will also ask your school to sign and seal these documenst AND, this is important, they will ask your school to include another copy of your final med school transcript.

Now this is a must to be done by your school no matter where and when did you graduate, this direct contact between your Med school and the ECFMG is the sole path to verify your credentials, the only thing you can do is to ask the ECFMG to re-send another verification request to your school and have someone in Yemen to follow that process up.

As radhamesramos pointed, the Dean's letter is not a big deal, if your school officials are stubborn then no problem, you can always go to the Match process and apply to residency programs without it. GL

..and you know what? Almost all the Dean's letters from almost all med schools from everywhere in the world follo the same format, so programs directors sometimes don't even read them. tehy just want to be sure that you graduated from a real med school

As TheOne suggested. contact some one who can help you in verifying documents from your college. when ECFMG sent my letter to my college . it was lost first time . second time my friend went there. he observed every thing. remember this is a must thing other wise ECFMG will not verify your status even you pass all exams.
