us citizens denied residencies

I am looking for fellow us-citizens who are being denied residencies. Residency programs arefunded by US taxpayers via medicare. Visa's are being issued by ICE for high tech jobs, (residencies) when there are US citizens who want and need these jobs.
The NBME has qualified us via USMLE steps. If the non-citizen applicants have higher scores than the NBME should raise standards to weed out the weak links.
I am considering class action lawsuits against ERAS, NRMP and ICE.
Anyone with similar concerns can contact me attlunde2@gmail.com

THE US federal law does not discriminate ppl on the basis of national origin, race, citizenship, etc.

Try joining the CIA or FBI, etc. The federal government can and does descriminate on citizenship. Think before you type...

...But no more than Foreign citizens...the first thing is that a LOT of progrmas do not sponsor a visa, the second one is that during the scramble no program even if they do sponsor visa, will take anybody without a GC or citizenship.

Remember that the positions that IMGs get are what is left after the AMGs select, ad we have to go tho crappy programs, because AMGs do not go there. And PDs prefer by a big margin either a GC or a citizen.

Examples: why someone with grades on the high 70s, no step 3 got more interviews and in better hospitals that someone in high 80s and low 90s, step 3 and USCE? Because she is an American Citizen.

American Citizens that do not get into a residency is because they did not study in the US, simple. So, don't blame the poor IMG because you could not get into a Med school in the US

Thanks Doctor 1. Now there is a group of people trying to satanize the foreign nationals who want to come to america and get a training. That is not the spirit under this great nation was founded

asa long as the "no fmg fever" seen in uk doesnt catch up with the american progrmas that should be ok though not great

It is going to be difficult that it catches up with America, because: "who's going to work in several hospitals around America that American physicians don't even know that they exist?" It happened in the UK because the british did not evolve enough to accept a foreign PD or having Foreign grads in high positions. The french wanted to do the same thing, but it is now backfiring them since a lot of their hospitals are lacking doctors by a big margin.

Of course, each year the number of IMGs seeking for residency in the US will increase steeply, while the number of residency spots will remain the same or increase by very little. That will make the competition harder, and the advantage of not needing a visa will play a lot on american's side

its interesting to know about he french but yeah i dont think it would catch up with the americans atleast not in the next 5 yrs a sthere is a great need for doctors all over us and with less people opting for j1 the underserved areas are really lacking in physicians

US citizens have the upper hand in the selection of residents by program Directors, so if a citizen of the US or legal resident does not match with the programs is either because their credentials are not good enough or because he/she applied to programs where an IMG could not have a chance...so, don't vent your frustration with people that had it really hard (beyond your comprehension) to get a resident position. US citizens and residents have all the advantage even at the scramble.
