U do not need to draft any visa sponsorship letter yurself.ECFMG will provide u with a sposorship letter when u register for USMLE Step-2CS test.

thnx cn yu telme hw much time does ecfmg take to provide 1 wid a sponsership letter? do they provide it online??? or they post it ??n cn yu pls tabulate here the doccuments required fr the visa interview?? im very confused the whole process of mtchin is not clear to me...n will yu pls enlighten me a bit bout the interviews and programs ppl keep talkin bout all the time?? wht purpose do they serve hw do they help if at all they do? n pls guide me wht centre to choose fr cs?? phila,chicago or atlanta?? ppl say tht they put up tougher cases in philadelphia

Here is wat the ECFMG says about the Visa Letter:
"Visa Letter (Step 2 CS only): Applicants traveling to the United States to take Step 2 CS who are neither U.S. citizens nor U.S. lawful permanent residents are responsible for obtaining required travel documents. These documents may include a visa to enter the United States. Upon request, ECFMG provides applicants with a letter that may assist during the the process of applying for a visa. The letter indicates that the applicant is registered for Step 2 CS, one of the exams required for ECFMG Certification. The letter also indicates that the applicant is required to travel to the United States to take the exam and provides the date by which the applicant must complete the exam.The letter is sent via postal mail after completion of the registration process."

U need to have the following documents in order to attend the visa interview.They r:
1.Certificate from a Bank showing the amount in yur sponsor's or yur account.
2.Chartered Accountant Statement of yur sponsor(s) or yur's if u r sponsoring yurself.
3.TADA Affidavit.
4.Affidavit of yur sponsors that they will pay for yur expenses during yur stay in the US.

U apply to programs thro' the website called ERAS.One needs to open an account on ERAS in order to be able to apply to programs.After the applicants apply to programs, the programs call them for the interviews according to their choice.Wen the interviews r over ,both the programs and the applicants rank each other and both put their rankings into the website called NRMP.Then the NRMP computer runs a Matching program(algorithm),which is wen different applicants match to different programs according to how both ranked each other.

U can choose any Step-2CS center.There is no difference watsoever.These r only rumors.
Despite there being no difference amongst the various testing centers, I wud advise u to take yur Step-2CS test in Philadelphia itself because of its proximity to New York where one feels at home due to very high immigrant population.It will also be very easy to travel to Philadelphia from New York.

i also wana know how much time do in need in hand to change ma centr for cs?? i mean like fr movin the ck date yu need to do it before 5 business days of the fixed date...wht bout cs?? i hope it not like 2 months....i overheard sme 1 sayin tht in the library

Here is wat the ECFMG says:

"If you cancel more than 14 calendar days before (but not including) your scheduled test date, there is no fee to reschedule.

If you cancel during the 14-day period before (but not including) your scheduled test date, your fee will be $150 when you reschedule.

If you miss your scheduled testing appointment without canceling, your fee will be $400 when you reschedule."
