What's your CS elgibilty period? "When it ends?"
You can apply for the visa again after 60 days from being rejected. If you have doubts about getting the visa contact the ECFMG and ask them to provide you with a letter to re-enforce your next application or just ask them to defer your test to a future date.

ECFMG might or might not grant you an extension, sometimes they might even send you another re-enforce letter as theOne told you. And about the waiting period for reapplying to a visa after rejection is not 60 days, but 30 days, so far, the problem is when is their closest open spot for a interview.

Good luck in getting your visa and passiing the CS

Actually in some consular sections (depending on the country) the time is even less. What I think is that there is no such waiting time, since it is not mentioned in their webpage, but delays of the appointments.

An example: In my country's U.S. consular section, if you are denied the nonimmigrant visa, you are entitled to apply next day if you want, the thing is that the next available dates for an interview will be 60 days from that day you apply...but acording to the law, there is no waiting period. Of course that varies from one Consular section to another.

Anyways, the immigraton lawyers always recommend you to wait for a full year before applying again for a nonimmigrant visa (of course this is not art case since he/she really needs this visa pretty soon) so you can correct all points that might be negative to your application. So, I think that this waiting time is not such existent but an interpretation of different approaches and processes on how to apply for a B visa
