It's a very frustrating situation. This is the second year for me and no Luck. For how long will we keep wasting our money and efforts like this.
I feel sorry for a lot of applicants as there r not enough seats for everybody. We need a solution for our problem.I am thinking of writing a letter to our President Obama.
I will ask for a solution .We want education even if they don't pay us any salary .We can compensate for it after we finish .What do you think, guys ?All suggestions r welcome.

Ye, it is really a sad situation for all those who have invested their money, efforts, and time in this whole process of acquiring a residency spot, but have not been successful.Particularly , the US citizen or non US citizen IMGs with average credentials r having a hard time finding a residency spot.
The only solution to this problem lies in increasing the number of residency spots. But, this proposed increase in residency spots is turning out to be too expensive for the US government, and thus seems unlikely to happen. Moreover, the Republicans r outrightly averse to such an increase in the number of residency spots due to the costs involved.Another nail in the coffin is the recent win in Massachusets of a Republican Senator. This win has undoubtedly weakened the influence of Democrats which is going to take its toll on the smooth passage of the Healthcare Bill.
However, everyone here can visit one of the following links and tell Congress TODAY to include in their final health care reform agreement a 15% increase in the number of Medicare-supported graduate medical education (GME)/Residency training slots. Here r the links:

Do it now,and don't miss this chance!

Good Luck!

Great idea! Maybe the president needs to know that there is a backlog of qualified ecfmg certified candidates that are rejected from year to year. As long as they continue to administer the exams , there is going to be a backlog. Many an aspirant spends their money and time eventually pass the steps but the artificial bottleneck leaves them frustrated impoverished and demorolized. The AMA/ECFMG may be aware but does not want take any step to alleviate the situation. But are they really aware ?
