18 year old boy got admitted after developing abcess in the
left flank which was drained by a surgeon.patient was emaciated with swinging temperature.
after 6 days of admission ,fecal discharge started from the left flank area(1. what is suspected at this momemt).
an emergency right tansverse colostomy was with necrostomy done ,fever persisted,,,,
one day the patient complained of breathlessness(2. what could be the cause for breathlessness).
aspiration of pleural cavity revealed bloodstained dirty fluid rich amylase.
.few days later he developed severe convulsions and coma,,blood sugar was 20 mg% following injection insulin
because patient had developed diabetes..........

i think the primary pathology was a abscess in the tail of pancreas
2. destruction of the surfactant by amylase, resulting in breathlessness,
ARDS
the diabetes must be d/tpancreatic insufficiency

and what is the reason this poor guy developed pancreatitis?
was this guy suffering from ulcerative colitis?
