radhamesramos - 03-26-08 11:25 As somebody who tried getting into a specialty in three countries before trying America, let me tell you something: first, the training is more uniform in America than in most of the other developed countries, I am telling you this since in France, for instance you have hospitals with a very high level of education, and others where you learn nothing. It is true that in America you have disparities, but at least there are regulations. In America the racial issue is not as poignant as in Europe. In America the salary for a FMG is the same as for an AMG, in Europe you get less, and in some countries you don't even get paid. and besides, England was a good place to go years ago, now try to get in there: Impossible! New Zealand regulations are so tight that it is almost impossible. The country that is opening more to Foreign Medical Graduates is Ireland, because Irish Medical graduates are going to train in the U.S. And the reognition you get for being trained in the U.S is unique. I've compared the three worlds and is definitely not the same
