i know we have to prepare everything by sep 1st for residency in 2009, i'm wondering, if i only take step 3 end of sept and the score will probably be out end of oct/nov, will it decreases my chances of getting an interview? cos i know some programs start their interviews in nov.. or will the programs keep their eye on the potential candidate throughout the yr and only decide at the end who will get the appointment after we have update our latest credentials??

As I said in one of the postings I made: last year I only got one interview and did not match because my step 3 results came in January. I know some credentials are more important than others and step 3 is what we may call secondary, but it counts, and every year it counts more, moreover if your credentials are not very impressive. But, I don't think that having taken the exam in Sep will affect you a lot. Programs might take a chance with you because the might know the results before the match or even before the interview. Re: will it be on time? bazeee - 04-14-08 03:28 yes man he is right if you take a look at the sites of specially psy programs in some program they ask for it specially if GY is beyond thier set limits
