Will MRCS or MRCP help?

hi guys i was told by a fellow that doing mrcp 1 or mrcs 1 increases ur chances to get interview and matched , is it true? he told me that there is no official data about it but they would prefer someone with mrcp1 than a person without mrcp1 !

Yes, it is absolutely right.
Last year there were many such residency applicants who had been working in the UK for some time.We all know about the changed immigration policies in the UK which have made it difficult for overseas doctors to practice there.A lot of them had MRCP.MRCPsych,etc. and they were absolutely preferred to those who did not have these qualifications.
However,it is pertinent to mention that one should complete all the parts of the MRCP,MRCPsych,etc. in order to get the highest benefit from it.
In a nutshell, it is really worth passing these exams alongwith the USMLE if one can manage it.
Also, any clinical experience in a country where healthcare standard is comparable to that of the US,say NZ,Ireland,etc really counts in the US.
