hey guys, i'm trying to get an observership or externship for so long, but i didn't have any luck with that. so i think i'm contacting the wrong people... who i should contact for asking about observer ship .. is it office of graduate medical education wich they refuse all the time .. or get a list with the program directors and try to contact them... i live in Philadelphia, and i tried every single hospital over there ...
please advice..
thanks

Each hospital has a website, check it first and see if they offer any observership/externship then contact the person who is responsible.
I know you've done that but just needed tpo lay some basic ground for the people out there who may need to know how to approach these programs.
Now in your case, i would walk to these hospitals full-dressed with my resume on my hand, ask to talk to the PD and once you're face to face with the him/her explain what you need and how helpful can you be. Remember the rule of thumb.. email then call then walk. It never fails and worst case scenario is.. No, we're sorry.

u can e mail from the frieda websit
take the emails of "person to contact for more details" or " residency co ordinator"
his or her e mails r the best
see colleges details individually from frieda and mail these people
some of them will def respond back
try cleveland clinic in florida they have paid observerships there
and i heard its very nice also
